RTC introduces 40 buses to serve IT corridor

IT employees working at IT corridors of Gachibowli area can look forward to travel in new APSRTC buses, an alternative to private transport options like cabs and autos, as the corporation has launched 40 new buses in various IT corridors.

The services were launched by RTC vice-chairman and managing director AK Khan and Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand at Wave Rock and Q-City in Gachibowli on Tuesday.

The initiative was taken up by the Cyberabad police in coordination with APSRTC, APIIC and others to ensure security and convenience of IT employees, especially women. DCP (traffic) Avinash Mohanty said that in the wake of recent rapes and other crimes, there were a series of deliberations on making IT corridors safe  for people working there and one of the suggestions was to provide public transport. APIIC has provided three bus parking areas for RTC at Wave Rock, Q City and Inorbit Mall.
