"We have around 350 students coming from AP including 150 research scholars. The idea for setting up a centre here came about after students suggested that a local centre will be useful for the large number of students from AP and also to promote research,' said Ashok Kumar Gadiya, chancellor of Mewar University.
For this, the university has signed MoUs with industrial bodies such as industry development council (IDC), Indian Tourism Development Corporation, Aditya Birla Training and Research Centre among others.
The R&D centre, which would be set up at Liberty Crossroads this week, will cater to the needs of the 150- odd research scholars from AP who are currently studying in the university campus in Rajasthan. The centre will have facilities such as a library, lab, information desk and assistance from professors.
