CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy will be layingthe foundation stone for the g.a.m.e Tower tomorrow. He will alsobe officially unveiling the AP Gaming, Animation Media & Entertainment Policy 2014-2019.

The State has already allocated 30 acres for the G.A.M.E Park. It is also to develop the incubation centre (G.A.M.E Towers), with around `350 crore in that park. Infrastructure such as roads, electricity is being developed for the entire park for attracting new companies. Incubation centre will enable ‘walk to work’ and ‘plug and play’ built up office space. The space will be provided at subsidised rates to first generation technocrat entrepreneurs, SMEs engaged in gaming, animation, media and entertainment activities, and also consists of all common amenities, housing, recreation, schools, entertainment centres, and medical facilities. The IT department conducted second review meeting for initiation of the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) on Monday with other government departments such as Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh.

Information Technology minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said, “The government will be notifying empowered functional unit of APIIC within HMDA limits under the HMDA act to purview the whole development process and to begin the work. On a long term, we will be developing a permanent authority by looking at various models and alternatives to speed up the clearances for infrastructure development. The new authority has to be strong and should not tolerate any kind of red-tapism in the process. This authority may have units from other government departments, who have to sanction necessary permissions. Keeping this in mind, we will deliberate on requirements whether to amend the existing act or to bring a new act to setup this authority. The State will also look for various successful models practiced around the globe for infrastructure development in various zones.”

“Initially, the APIIC will develop 20 per cent of the processing area that is 4,000 acres out of 20,000 acres. This includes development of infrastructure such as roadways, power, sewerage system, water and IT office space. Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) authorities have already delegated the work to extend the railway line from Falaknuma via Umdanagar to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The work will be commenced within a week, which is to be the first infrastructure work to start under the ITIR project,” he added. The State will also get ready with detailed project report by identifying new land parcels around Tirupati and Vizag within a week to submit it to the Centre.
